Power Electronics Engineer

Creating the highest efficient and most useful bi-directional power electronics designs for applications like electric vehicle chargers, home battery storage systems, elevator drives, UPS … - is our mission and we hope it can be yours too.
At SiGaN AG we are building outstanding power electronics with a combination of proven designs and highly innovative elements utilising the very latest semiconductor developments and much more.
To expand our R&D team in the 100-1000V and 1-50kW ranges, we are looking for electronic teammates with a passion in some of the following areas:

Advanced circuit design and simulations Magnetics
Altium Design and layout DSP/ uC software development
SMD board testing and reworking In-house PCB prototype line
Standards/Norms research and testing Product/ component sourcing

New concepts are rapidly tested and iterated in-house and as we are at the forefront of this technology, we believe that experimentation is a necessary part of reaching the next level. Everything we learn is valuable knowledge which can be used future testing and design iterations.

SiGaN AG is a small but rapidly growing company from Zurich Oerlikon who works on what we call In short missioη99, we combine maximum efficiency, unique functionality and compactness into a modular platform. Our electronic designs are licenced to OEMs in the area of EV wall boxes, battery storage systems, motor drive providers and many more.

We are looking to strengthen our team with an Experienced Altium Design Engineer who likes to work in a highly dynamic electronics design house, using the very latest technologies to reach the next level in power electronics.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is resourceful, capable of understanding complex tasks, can work on their own or as part of a team and enjoys tackling new and difficult problems. Ideally you will impress us by forward thinking and openness to new ideas. You will be working closely with our electronic hardware design engineers.

We are not just looking for an experienced Altium user but also a person who understands power electronics in the 200-1000V range and can therefore support our hardware engineers not just in laying out PCBs.

Principal tasks are:

  • Altium Schematic and PCB layout
  • Create centralised Altium versioning and library system
  • Develop Altium A365 for collaboration with external partners
  • BOM pricing and ordering
  • Ensure all libraries are maintained
  • Support product sourcing and PCN control

Secondary tasks include:

  • Running our small in-house protype system. “Pick and Place, Vapour Phase oven etc.”
  • Reworking our SMD boards (components down to 0402)
